These are the most important questions a person can ask. The answers are found in one place: the Word of God.
Salvation is a gift from God. It is the payment for your sin by someone other than yourself.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 6:23
Jesus Christ paid for your sins on the cross. Salvation is not something you can earn or achieve on your own. It is not:
It is simply receiving what God has already given.
Two reasons.
You are a sinner. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
Judgment is coming. Every person will stand before God and give account.
The good news is that God made a way out.
Only God, through His Son Jesus Christ.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16
Jesus died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for sin. He who knew no sin became sin for us, so that we could be made right with God
Simply believe.
Throughout Scripture, the answer is the same. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved."
Romans 10:13
There is nothing fancy to do. Call upon Jesus, believe what He did for you on the cross, and receive His gift of salvation.
If you've accepted Christ, the Bible says a change will take place in your life.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17
Here's your next step: find a good, Bible-believing church, open your Bible, and begin to grow in Christ.
